Teenager Had 82 Teeth Pulled From His Jaw In A 3-Hour Surgery

A 17-year-old boy from Bihar, India, had a rare tumor and just had the operation of his life. Nitish Kumar has had 82 teeth pulled out of his jaw in 3 hours.

Suffered for a long time

FYI, he suffered from a jaw tumor called complex odontoma for 5 years. It got serious to the point that he had to undergo an operation to fix his jaw. Eventually, the boy did not have a whopping set of 82 teeth in the two massive lumps anymore.

His face was distorted due to the number of teeth.

That was 50 teeth more than normal and it was not at all comfortable for him who had not had a chance to be properly treated for years.

Luckily, he got to meet the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences doctors and managed to get a date for the surgery. One of the doctors said that his condition worsened due to a lack of treatment.

It was a game-changer

Prior to the operation, scans unveiled the severe swelling and how his face distorted because of the excess teeth. We can also see the huge number of teeth at the bottom of his mouth.

Now, the agony has ended for the teenager as the doctors managed to remove every excess tooth in 3 hours.

Last year, an Indian doctor also pulled out a 3.9-cm tooth which earned the title of “’world’s longest tooth”.

Pawan Bhavsar was a 20-year-old engineering student when he visited a dentist after suffering from constant gum swelling, blisters, and jaw aches in his mouth.

After a quick diagnosis, two of his teeth that caused the pain were extracted. However, the larger tooth was something he never saw before. It was 3.9 cm long and was believed to break a Guinness World Record.
